Synopsis
Spectacle
Lukuss, the city of despair and violence. An experimental metropolis
buried deep inside the Earth, ruled by gangs, where mayhem and retribution
are a normal part of life. To show your strength, you must deprive your
opponents of their limbs...
The underground city of Lukuss is ruled by gangs and religious fanatics
who have all carved up their own piece of the city. Peace is held together
by a very fragile balance. But now the city appears to be on the verge
of chaos as that balance begins to fall apart. Four individual lives hold
the city's fate in their hands: Onishi: the leader of the most powerful
gang in Lukuss; Yoshii: a mysterious man from the surface-world; Ran:
a young girl who can see into the future and Ichise: a loner who has had
his arm and leg replaced with the incredible science known as Texhnolyze.
One of these four will try to destroy Lukuss while the others will either
try to save the city or themselves from a terrible fate. But who will
win?

Review
Technolyze continues to impress me with both its quality
of animation and superb use of sound effects. So far, however, I’m
less impressed with the characters and story, it still seems disjointed
and I’m afraid that they’ll try to cram too much into the
final episodes and in turn lose much of the atmosphere that they’ve
spent so long building up. These reservations aside though, I am enjoying
the series if only to see a gritty, realistic looking landscape instead
of the usual anime setting. I still have high hopes for the series overall
and only time will tell if Texhnolyze will fulfil its potential. (Anime-On-DVD)
